Bayhydrol® – The best stone-chip protection with water based primers

Primers are used in automotive OEM finishing for the most sensitive sections of the car body, like for instance door sills and front sections of cars, which need to be protected in the best possible way against severe stone-chipping. Elastic polyurethane systems are able to resist substantial impact stress without major damage. Bayer MaterialScience also developed products for so-called “primerless-concepts”, which consist of layers that are used instead of primer surfacer. These systems are coated wet-in-wet with waterborne base coats and clear coats.
