High performance parquet coatings with Desmodur®/Desmophen® systems

Typical formulations for high performance two-component-polyurethane parquet coatings are based on highly branched polyester polyols, such as Desmophen® 800 or Desmophen® 1100 and crosslinkers of the Desmodur® L or Desmodur® E range.

Moisture-curing one- and two-component polyurethane systems for parquet coatings

Desmodur® E grades are particularly well suited for transparent wood coatings. Due to their outstanding resistance to wear and non-slip characteristics they are the raw material of choice for coatings applied in public buildings, dance halls and multi-purpose halls.
Coatings based on Desmodur® E cure by reaction with moisture. Drying time, development of hardness and application properties are strongly dependent on ambient conditions like air humidity. Therefore, Bayer MaterialScience offers a broad range of suitable products for the use in every region of the world and any requirement. For example Desmodur® E 1361 BA is the best choice for central European conditions, on the other hand the slowly drying Desmodur® E 1160 is suggested for those regions, where temperature and / or humidity are high. Desmodur® E 1660 may be used for faster drying formulations.
