Decorative floor coatings - A beautiful combination of art and technology
The attractiveness of floors can be significantly increased by a decorative design. The use of innovative high-tech floor coatings made of polyurethane raw materials produced by Bayer MaterialScience can add an individual touch of art to large-surface floors. They provide unusual and yet durable solutions for hotel lobbies, restaurants, discotheques, concert halls or exhibition centers.
Due to aliphatic polyisocyanates such as Desmodur® the coating does not fade or yellow. Even after years and years of intensive use they maintain their good looks. In addition, the coating is wear resistant and resistant against detergents and other aggressive chemicals. And should there be an occasional scorch mark or scratch, the surface can easily be sanded and re-sealed with a transparent polyurethane coat based on waterborne binders such as Bayhydrol® or Bayhydur®.
The individuality of a decorative floorcoating that nobody else has - created by an artist for every singly room, multi-color and without joints - that's what the Artwalk® brand stands for. These floor coatings are based on two-component polyurethane systems with raw materials of the Bayhydrol® / Bayhydur® range or the Desmophen® / Desmodur® range.
On top of their visual attractiveness Artwalk® floor coatings do fullfill hard technical requirements too, of course:
Crack bridging
Mechanical durability
Chemical resistance
Thermal resistance
Safety, e.g. anti-slip properties, flame retardence and anti-static properties
