In most cases plastic coatings consist of three layers:
Primer to improve adhesion and to level imperfections of the plastic substrate Base coat for coloring and effects (e.g. metal finish) Top Coatfor coloring and as protective layer against weathering, solvents and scratching Clear Coat as protective layer against weathering, solvents and scratching
