Underbody protection – optimum stone chip protection with Desmodur®-systems


When it comes to underbody protection coatings have to meet extreme requirements regarding impact strength and abrasion resistance. Desmodur® and Desmophen® based one component an two component polyurethane systems provide outstanding corrosion protection even in case of heavy stone-chipping. These coatings for underbody protection are generally applied on the cathaphoretic dip layer, which must create coating layers between 100µm and 2mm (at joints).

In addition, two component -under body coating systems cure at ambient temperature (energy efficiency) and show a lower weight compared to other systems, and polyurethane technology is suitable for the production of plasticizer-free coatings as well.
